KELZIX Radio is a free web radio run by KELZIX. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to information when you use the radio. There is no account and no sign-up, and the radio never asks for your name, phone number or email address.
In short
- The sound comes straight from each station's own server to your device. We do not relay, record or store any audio.
- We count visits and listening with Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, to learn which stations work well and which need fixing.
- We do not sell information, use it for advertising, or link it to who you are.
- Your settings (language, band, last station, volume) stay on your device.
1. When you play a station
Your device connects directly to the station's stream server, for example All India Radio, or a hosting company the station uses, such as Zeno.fm. Like any website you visit, that server receives your device's IP address and basic technical details such as the browser type. These servers are run by the stations or their hosting companies, not by KELZIX, and their own privacy terms apply. KELZIX does not receive what they collect.
2. Hosting and visit statistics
Hosting. The radio's pages are served by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages to you.
Google Analytics (Google LLC). While you use the radio, Google Analytics records the pages
viewed; the language, band and station you play; listening time in one-minute steps; whether a stream had to
reconnect or could not be reached; whether the share card was shown and whether a share button was tapped;
and general information such as device type, browser and approximate location (city, region, country). It uses cookies (names starting with _ga) to recognise a returning browser.
- Google's advertising features and Google signals are switched off for the radio, and we do not send Google your name, contact details or anything else that identifies you.
- Google states that Google Analytics uses IP addresses only briefly, for example to estimate location, and does not store them.
- In our settings, detailed records are kept for 2 months and user-level records for up to 14 months; after that only summary reports remain.
- More from Google: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- You can stop Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies for radio.kelzix.com, or with your browser's tracking protection. The radio works the same either way.
In the European Economic Area and Switzerland Google Analytics is not loaded at all: no analytics cookie is set and no listening events are sent. Only Cloudflare's cookieless visit count applies there.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and page speed. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies or local storage for this and does not fingerprint visitors.
3. Your approximate location
To open the radio in a likely language and band (for example Malayalam in Kerala, or the GULF band in the UAE), the radio asks our host, Cloudflare, for the approximate city, region and country it works out from your IP address. This uses no GPS and no location permission. The answer is kept only on your device, for 7 days, and KELZIX does not store it.
4. Checking your network
Some mobile networks in India cannot reach older (IPv4-only) radio servers. To show you only the stations your network can play, the radio briefly contacts two Cloudflare addresses (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1) when it opens and when your network changes. These requests carry no cookies and do not say which page you are on, and the radio reads nothing from the answers except whether they arrived. Our statistics record only whether the check succeeded.
5. Sharing with a friend
After a couple of minutes of listening, the radio may ask once whether you would like to share the station, and the SHARE button is always there. Sharing opens WhatsApp with a ready message; nothing is sent unless you send it, and WhatsApp's own terms apply. KELZIX does not see who you share with.
6. What stays on your device
So that the set opens where you left it, your browser keeps your language, band, last station on each band, volume, the approximate location from section 3, and when it may next ask about sharing (local storage). This is not sent to KELZIX. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. If you add the radio to your home screen, a small helper (a service worker) makes the installation possible; it stores no pages and no data.
7. What we do not do
- We do not ask for or collect names, phone numbers, email addresses or payment details through the radio.
- We do not use your microphone, camera, contacts or precise location.
- We do not sell or rent information, and we do not use it for advertising.
8. Where information is processed
Google and Cloudflare operate worldwide, so the information described above may be processed outside India, under their own terms and safeguards.
9. Children
The radio is for a general audience. It asks no one, including children, for personal details.
10. Questions and requests
Write to [email protected] about anything on this page, including requests to see or delete information. Statistics in Google Analytics are not linked to names, so we may not be able to find one person's records, but we will tell you what we can do. We aim to reply within 30 days. KELZIX's Grievance Officer can also be reached through the contact details in the KELZIX privacy policy.
Station owners: to change or remove a listing, write to [email protected]. We aim to act within 48 hours.
11. Changes
If what the radio does with information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
